FAQ

  • Unfortunately, only those who are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident are eligible for the government funded Shuttle programs. If you live in Alberta, you are eligible to take part in our Job Skills that Pay the Bills classes. You can learn more about these classes here: https://www.higherlanding.com/skillsworkshops

  • You can apply for our government funded Shuttle programs here: higherlanding.com/apply

Please only submit ONE application to be considered for ALL programs. Our team will review your application to determine the best fit for you.

  • The application process typically takes up to 2-4 weeks. If you are applying for a cohort in a later month, this could take longer.

  • Higher Landing offers 1-3 day courses sponsored by the Government of Alberta. These cover topics such as Resumes, Job Search, Interviews, and more. You can learn about these and register for them here: higherlanding.com/skillsworkshops. These are eligible to Alberta residents only.

If you are not eligible for the government funded programs, you can participate in a self-directed program. You can learn more, as well as participate in a FREE 7 day trial here: higherlanding.com/program-options

  • Jackie will send a follow up email with the recording and a copy of her presentation.

  • The Higher Landing Shuttle Program is 3 months in duration. All of our workshops and clinics take place Monday-Friday during business hours. You can expect to spend up to 20-25 hours per week; attending sessions, completing digital homework, and participating in coaching sessions.

  • You must complete the program in its entirety unless you land a full-time role. Attendance is tracked and reported to the government.

  • Our program is curriculum based. You will spend the first month learning about yourself, the second month learning how to pitch yourself to potential employers, and the third month focused on finding that “higher landing”! You are not able to accelerate the pace of the program.

  • Higher Landing is not a job placement agency – we do not find you a job. We teach you skills to find and land a role, and may connect you with contacts in our network if applicable.

  • We share job opportunities in our Higher Landing Alumni group on LinkedIn. Once you are accepted into the program, you are invited into this group. We also are asked by companies for names of people that would be a good fit for a role they are hiring for.

  • Jackie teaches some of the content. We have an experienced team of instructors who deliver content in their areas of expertise.

  • All of our sessions take place during the day Monday to Friday (between 8am-5pm MDT). Workshops range from 2 - 3.5 hours, and clinics are 2-3 hours.

  • The goal of this program is for you to land a role. Most of our clients continue to look for work while they are participating in the program. If you land a job, you are welcome to continue attending if it works with your schedule, but you don’t have to.

  • A professional is defined as someone who works in an office environment and/or has completed post-secondary education.

  • Asking about pain points is a great way to start a conversation and a chance to show how you can solve problems and add value to the company. You find out what the company's pain points are by asking the right questions.

  • Within 3 months of completing the program, more than 70% of participants have landed. Every person’s journey is different. Some people land jobs in the first month, some land after presenting in the Grizzly Den (end of month 2), some land during month 3, etc.

  • Our program helps professionals of all levels. We also have coaches specialized in mentoring executives.
