Shuttle for Alberta Professionals (SAP)
SAP is a virtual career program dedicated to unemployed Alberta professionals who have been impacted by the evolving nature of the energy industry.
About the SAP program
Whether you’ve experienced an unexpected layoff or you feel stuck in a stagnant industry, we’ll help you identify your transferable skills so you can successfully pivot your career, land a job in other energy fields, and get back to meaningful work.
What we’ll cover:
Recharge your your job search in your existing field or new fields
Uncover your true value outside of your hard skills
Build a compelling personal brand
Learn how to market yourself effectively to decision makers
Identify new market and job opportunities
Leverage the skills you have to explore new job opportunities
Unlock your earning potential and get the salary that reflects your value
Increase your salary and break through frustrating career plateaus
Participants may also be eligible for short courses that help remove barriers to employment by providing targeted training or certification needed to secure or retain meaningful work. In addition, employment readiness supports are available to assist participants in becoming job-ready and successfully transitioning into the workforce. Some participants may also qualify for Workplace Training, which offers hands-on, employer-based experience to support long-term employment success.
Commitment:
Approximately 15-20 hours per week over 90 days during normal working hours (Monday - Friday)
The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
